Funding Options

There are several options available to make speech pathology services more affordable for your family.

Chronic Disease Management Plan

The Chronic Disease Management Plan exists to enable eligible families to access up to five (5) subsidised speech pathology sessions for their child per calendar year. It is an option for children requiring a multi-disciplinary approach to their care—such as some children with speech or language disorders who require intervention from a speech pathologist.

More information about the Chronic Disease Management Plan option is available here. A referral form to assist your GP processing your claim can be found here. Additional information from the Speech Pathology Australia website to assist your GP can be found here.

The current rebate amount from Medicare for children on the CDMP is approximately $52.95 per session.

Please bring your Medicare card with you on the day. This will enable us to process your rebate though our HICAPS machine as quickly as possible for you.

A signed copy of the Chronic Disease Management Plan must be provided for us to process the claim.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Children with a diagnosed disability may be eligible to receive funded support through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIS enables children and adults with needs in multiple areas to access consistent, timely support from the services they require.

More information about NDIS eligibility can be found here. More information about the process of NDIS Plan Provision once you’ve secured your funding can be found here. Specific information about how NDIS funding works currently in South Australia can be found here. Kudos Services is the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) partner for the NDIS in South Australia (more information can be found here).

Alternatively, you are encouraged to contact the NDIS for more information on 1800 800 110.
